Torco And Boost?

Ive got a case of torco fuel additive and was wondering how high of boost is safe with this stuff on a 35r. we have 92 oct pump around here. im tuned to run 22psi on straight pump. i dont have a knock link or anything to monitor knock. would it be safe to go 25psi?

1 can into 12 gallons of gas will raise it to 98.X octane 25 psi will be fine.

How much is that Torco Fuel additive? It's not just some octane booster is it?

Last i checked it was $10 a can and who knows what the hell it is but your car won't detonate at all, last time i checked woth Joel a local distributor he said it was a blend of anti knock additives and buffers.

you can also buy a 5 gallon can for $150 wich will last months.

^^^This is your biggest issue. I would fix this first and foremost then go play with additives and boost. Without a way to monitor your knock, A/F, or timing you are playing with fire by upping the boost with such a big turbo (or any turbo for that matter)

Junkie you need to get a way to log and monitor what the effects are doing. I would hate to see the motor piece out.

Ya, I do have a wide band to monitor afr's but no knock monitor. i was looking into the knock link box, but cant find anyones impressions on it. its only 250.00 and has 3 areas of knock detection.

You would be better off mixing race gas with 93.

I have used torco. It is a race fuel additive. not an octane booster. Stuff works very well. Have your car tuned by someone who knows what he is doing would be the best advice. I carried two 12 oz. bottles in my trunk and just added a bottle every 6 gallons. Worked out to be about 97 octane. Got tired of filling little bottles and switched to meth injection. If you add this stuff to your fuel you have to keep adding it in same proportions to keep fuel octane consistant.

If indeed the TORCO additive raises the octane number from 92 up to 96 or 98(R+M/2) and you're only gonna increase boost from 22# to 25#, then IMO you would be safe. That is, with the cold blowing 35R, 25# should be o.k. on 96 octane. Hell, guys are running 23# on Evo IX's on 92 octane.

You have to buy it from the Torco website. I feel good about Methanol, but that extra 4-5 octance gives me that extra peace of mind.
