wheel vibration/shake

bought silver evo VIII two weeks ago. the car is hot.
quick question though. I know the car has a harder ride, but has anyone been experiencing a noticeable steering wheel/vibaration at highway speeds?

You may need to rebalance your wheels, especially if you've particularly jarred your wheels somewhere into a pothole or something. So soon after getting the car, the dealership may fix it for you. Take it to them, tell them the problem, and that you think the wheels are out of balance or the alignment is off. They should be able to fix you up pretty well.

thanks for the feedback. i thought it might be the balancing but with only 65 miles on it when i got the car i thought it may be something else?...unless someone struck a pothole during a test drive??? i am going to follow up with the dealer. thanks.

My steering wheel shakes a little bit too (a little more than say another car with this kinda mileage), but it's not to the point that my hands are flying all over the place. Also, when I hit the brakes, the steering wheel shakes. I've already rotated my tires. Same thing. Maybe my brake rotors are warped, but I highly doubt that.

I've got that too, but only on rough surface at 70mph+. I wonder if it's normal for cars with direct steering feel and agressive suspension setting like the EVOs?

I have the same minor vibration in my steering wheel. I attribute it to the tires and susp.?

knowing a contributing part is probably the hard suspension, I did take the car into the dealer though to check general wheel shake at highway speeds and shake when applying brakes at highway speeds.

they test drove the car and agreed with my complaints. they
re-balanced the wheels and corrected the warped rotors. so far so good.

dont think these things should be an issue with such a new car and they agreed.

I got my wheels rebalanced the day after I bought it at my local dealer. Two of the wheels were 65 grams off
