okay, cos I suck at peer pressure, it's going on tomorrow evening.

just looking at instructions, looks pretty complicated. I mean, they're talking about removing all sorts of stuff... oh well...

Well, the good news no.1, it's in.

Good news no.2 - from about 4.5-7k it pulls noticably harder, specially around 4.5-6. Butt dyno rekons 8-10whp. But how much trust do you have in my butt? Anyway, even in the 2k region, it's more useful. There's noticable less slipping of the clutch and the car's much easier to drive at low speed/ low revs.

Bad news no.1 - the stocker had two threded holes where the anit-lag thing fits. One of the holes was a pitb to remove. The thread was f|_|cked. Eventually we got it out. But the hole will need to be re-threaded if I want to re-use it.

Bad news no.2 - I won't make it to the dyno for the foreseeable future. Unless someone else wants to pay for it. It's not that I can't afford it, but really $120 to find out how much hp I have?

I think the guys at Tomei can say it better than I can. Specially in Japanese: http://www.tomei-p.co.jp/asx/expreme4g63.asx

All in all, I'm happy with it. If the rates for the dyno is reduced I might jump on it and post some numbers. [p.s. I am getting cams and a tune in a few months so I'm not really too bothered to get a tune right now.]

To be honest, I don't think it's all that different to that plot they have on their site - a little improvement through the rev range. Nothing out of this world but good nonetheless. At the end of the day, it's never going to be the best bang for the buck but I'm very happy with it. Hopefully, when I get cams and a tune, we'll see the full potential of this thing...

I dont think I've ever seen spacing b/w the runners like this. Usually the transitions are a little smoother.

Is this pretty common?

Tomei came up with this as a brand by combining the words "exhaust" and "supreme" It does sound rediculous, unless you say it with a very exaggerated Japanese accent

FWIW, I just fitted the Tomei Outlet Pipe and Down Pipe to my Evo6. Awesome quality and fitment. (just a pig of a job to install)

Not cheap though!

The edges are sharp and the separatioin is quite small. I don't think it will do anything to the flow really. The pieces are cast and the edges are thin so I guess welding the edges together will do more damage than good.

I doubt the pipes are cast. They appear to be carefully squashed to give an oval cross section.
Being Tomei they will be top quality.

They are. They're loss-wax castings. Individual pieces then welded together. I think only one of the four is a bent pipe. (they are quite thick and of complicated shapes - the pic on the tomei website shows the individual pieces).
