Exedy Twin disc Vs. Single disc Question...

Ok so ive been searching around on here and i get the same responses.. Its this and its that, it drives like this and pops out like that.. blah blah..

What im looking for is a truthful, answer from a person who is knowledgeable about an exedy clutch..

Ive been interested in getting a Twin Disc HD, and before i purchase it a good friend tells me im better off getting the Single disc.. Said its way more driveable, handles almost the same power, and it can be slipped for easier launching/driving, claims its more forgivable.. ? Soo my question is, should i save the money and get the single disc ? or spend the extra couple hundred and get the HD twin disc.. Is the drivability really that much different, and are the power holding capabilities almost the same?

Next year i plan to do a stroker kit as well as alky and a few other misc. mods that will make more and more power, and my fear is that the single disc will not hold up..

Thanks in advance to anyone that may have something to say about this..

get the twin the single sucks, i blew mine one night at the track with only 320 tq. I now have a triple carbon ats and it is very streetable after the initial breakin. If you plan on a 35r i would defintly get something that will hold the power.

Thats what i was affraid i would hear... I would hate to spend $1000.00 and have it ruined after i get 400+
NOT TO MENTION THE TIME OF INSTALL.. my time alone would be wasted...

Anyone else have any experience with on or the other.. I hear that EXEDY is releasing a NEW MODEL of the twin plate HD and that is why they are pushing all the sales of them as we speak.. Is this in itself true?

my exedy twin is as driveable as stocker was.
i ran the car for over 3 hours of track time at the streets of willow this past sat.
the twin was butter smooth all day with absolutely no missed shifts.
no brainer in my opinion.

Twin Disk 100%.....Especially with what your plans are that you talked about last night

Since your using a clutch like that, it would be kinda smart while you were already there to send your tc away to get upgraded. Its worth every penny and you will have a tc that will handle many many drag passes with no chances of breaking. From what I understand the tc is kind of the weak point in the evo drivetrain, so getting it upgraded now will save you a ton of money down the road if something happens (which it may never, but its never wrong to plan ahead). If it breaks your shelling out 2+ grand because there are no replacement internals, or you could spend an extra $350-550 now and have it build to hold up...Just an idea?

Thanks guys, i guess the obvious decision will be to buy the twin disc.. Im starting to think that just maybe his buddy couldnt get rid of his last single disc and was trying to tell me how good it was to dish it off on to me.. Thanks for the input, just had a hard time deciding which one was better for me.. and based on what i plan to do to the car in the future, i finally found what i needed
