As Jeff mentioned, you can't determine if a turbo is maxed out by times or HP. Different people and setups get different amounts of power out of a given mass airflow rate. Weight also plays a role, etc. Look at Curt Brown for a good example of someone getting way more than the next guy at the same airflow. His 10.59 stock turbo isn't flowing any more than my 12.0 stock turbo.

how is it that you maxed out the stock turbo with only cams, filter and exhaust, when i have the same mods and am nowhere near maxing it out? what boost are you running? try turning up the boost and i bet you see increased massflow rate....
It would be impossible for me to add more boost, since I don't use a boost controller. At the track I pull the vac line off the WG actuator. The internal gate does not blow open either. The turbo makes the most flow it possibly can, and the boost is simply what is left over (what the motor doesn't flow). This illustrates how increasing flow through the motor on a maxed out turbo simply lowers boost.

It's also worth noting that on my own car, with the turbo maxed out, mph can vary from ~110 to 115. That's quite a bit of variation, all from the tune and type of gas I am running. A local club member with the same exact mods as me, and the same or very similar settings in DSMlink, has run as fast as 11.7 at 119 mph. And then consider that at the same 42 lbs/min plus nitrous my car went 122.

The point is that my statement about the turbo being maxed out is just that, a statement about the turbo being maxed out. You really can't infer too much else from it.

Edit> Run with no WG signal at your own risk. It could be pretty hard on the turbo.

I plan on conducting a 65mm vs 60mm compare next month when this dyno shop opens up down the street from me.

We're not here to serve you, go do the testing yourself. Your post adds nothing to this thread.

It was an easy way to bump. I trust WOT to provide something and if it is good then he will get my money.

has anyone had any sticky throttle issues with the larger TB? The last time I installed one on my z-car, the linkages were sloppy and I needed to add helper springs. Granted it was on older z-car....has this happened to anyone with an Evo TB upgrade?

I had a stock TB blow out the seals and the symptoms to it where it being stickey when it was cold. Not sure if it is related to what you are asking although it is a problem with the TB.

Another key fact that nobody is touching on is rpm. If your motor, cams, turbo, and intake manifold are going to make power past 8,500 rpm then a larger throttle body is going to help exploit this as well. You would also need a better flowing intercooler, and a larger upper intercooler pipe. Anything larger than a 35r would benifit. If your on a stocker or a quick spool 30r don't waste your time.
