IX Front Bumper Removal

Hey guys, I've got a new AMS FMIC and licp all ready to install tomorrow. I've done a lot of searching already and I have found two "how to's" on the subject but they are for a Lancer and an VIII. I have found nothing specific for a IX.

Before I begin I wanted to get any last minute pointers or advice from someone that has removed the bumper on the IX. Is there anything different than on the VIII?

Here was a good one I found on the VIII - https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...=remove+bumper

Is there anything else I need to know before I start?

Thanks

Nah it's pretty much the same, I just had to do it to install my Nisei LICP. There's a couple extra bolts (2) down in the bumper of the 9 that are covered by little clips down by the grill that are easy to recognize. It's real simple you won't have any issues.

Also about those clips be very careful not to break them. It might be a good idea to run down to your mistu dealer and get a bag full of replacement clips just in case you snap a few of them. They are not expensive at all. You can get a clip puller tool from any tool dept or tool truck for 15 to 20 bucks. Looks like a forked flathead screwdriver lol, but it makes pulling clips fast and easy and you hardly ever break them. Other than that its a snap. Later and good luck

Yep, Agreed. It's nearly the same. Pull those 2 bolts out on the IX; that's the different part. After all that, it's a quick 'yank'.
