One quick question, since you have done both 6 and 7 bolts. I recently put my 2.4L G4CS motor together with 6 bolt eagle rods. Again like normal they give you that Warning not to use any other bearing except pre 5/92 or some crap like that.. Well I ordered ACL Race series bearings that were early 89 to 5/92 and the rod bearings came exactly like 7 bolt bearings. 21mm width.. They fit the 6 bolt eagles perfectly.. Do ACL make their 6 bolt bearings 21mm instead of 23mm width or am I gonna be screwed cuz maybe they are secretly 7 bolt bearings.. Or does it even matter?

If they fit in the rods and were centered it shouln't matter. Both 6 and 7 bolts bearings are the same thickness, so its all about the width and how it fits the rod. I made a point of this and posted a pic showing the differences in the first post of this thread.

Main Girdle?

In pictures 7 and 12, I noticed there is a main girdle. Does anyone know if that thing is stock, or aftermarket? I tried searching for it both here and through Google, but I could not find any definitive answer. I am just curious, I am not planning on pulling my engine apart any time soon.

Nice job on the write up btw.

That would be a nice little surprise for the buyer. LOL

Hey man! You're the guy I asked about the SHO you're selling, I didn't know you did that 2.3 Evo. Sweet! Hell, you probably know who I am, I'm on FiveZeroSeven.

Anyways, great write-up. Maybe someday when I get to the point of needing/wanting a build-up, I'll see if you could give me a hand.

And hell yeah to being a DSMer... might not look the best, might not be technically correct, but dammit it works!
