Question exedy twin users...

Hey guys I have an exedy twin that has been performing flawlessly for the last few thousand miles but recently have had to re-adjust my pedal to keep from grinding, especially going into reverse, I already have the short clutch rod thing done and everything was ok but now I've run out of pedal adjustment, is the clutch just wearing out or is there something else I can do, it seems like it's just not fully dis-engauging when the cars running, I just dragged last night and there is still plenty of grip, there is no slipping at all under wot and I'm not making more than 350hp, any suggestions to look into, any advice is appreciated... Thanks evo brethren

the long rod will help give you more adjustablity and it should solve your problems...

Sorry, I'm dumb. Is the long rod the stock one? The short rod is the aftermarket one that is sold? Thanks!

I just did an extensive search on this, and I'll give you the links I found. There seems to be a lot of this "disengaging" problem going around lately:

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=221187

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=218887

and here's an older post that I found:
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...3&postcount=17

Now if you read the post below, the guy sent the clutch back to Exedy for inspection, and they said that the sticking was caused by errors made during installation. I'm not sure if they were just saying that to cover up a design flaw, or if the installers in these cases completely screwed up, or perhaps there are some type of extremely tight tolerances during the installation process making it easily susceptible to this problem.

Judge for yourself.

ok, well I'll try to fab a new clutch rod and see if that helps, I'm also a lil scared of buying a new twin plate, theese are a lil spendy, does anyone know of anyone who used the exedy re-build kit? I know when I re-surfaced my brakes they f'n sucked and warped, I'm afraid after getting the friction surfaces in the clutch re-surfaced I would have the same warping and crappy performance... anyone have any input on the re-build??

I'm in the market for a new clutch as well. With all these problems I just dont now what to do. My stock clutch has lasted 30k miles without adjustment. Aftermarket units should be able to do the same. Shouldn't need rods or continuous adjustments.

I have put 30000 on my exedy and I have launched it many times so no complaints, once it was adjusted properly after the inital installation
