Do I need to replace my exhaust manifold gasket????

Do I need to replace my exhaust manifold gasket????

Do I need to replace my exhaust manifold gasket if I am taking it off to put hi temp paint on it and then put it right back on?

no...not really and depending if your picky or not...like how many miles you put on your car and if the gasket is still the original one...these are just factors because i would hate to put everything back on and have it leak

--this could make it an 1hour job to 2hrs cosidering you've got the mani painted and installed(work time only)

You should be ok re-using it. But the gasket is $12 from the dealer, not a bad price. It would suck if yours leaks after you put everything back on.

Its not necessary, however its probably a good idea to always replace gaskets when possible.

the way i am i cant reuse anything. lol. anytime i pull stuff off or put stuff on my car i have to get all new hardwere and gasket's etc. im just a worry wort so whit that said

get new manifold studs, nuts, washers, gasket, manifold to thrubo studs, nuts bolts washers, gasket. if you need part numbers pm me i got the list. i just got from mitsuparts.com all the hardwere and gaskets etc from my head where the manifold connects all the way to the cat so i got all the part numbers.

Why not port the manifold since you have it off anyway?

Your not a worrywort.. I do the same thing, simply because over time, bolts and nuts rust and fatigue, and gaskets leak when their reused.. Generally its not a problem for exhaust manifold gaskets and some other multilayer metal gaskets, but I generally never reuse hardware or gaskets unless its absolutely necessary.
