the res. pill is in the slave cyl. not the clutch line. the first mod any evo owner should do is to remove the res. pill and put on a ss clutch line. like day and night. no slipping unless you slip it yourself and good consistant engagement point.

I took out the clutch restrictor on my old VIII, but didnt do it on the IX. It didnt really seem to do much when I did it on the VIII (I also added a SS clutch line when I did it), so I didnt worry about it on the IX. Also, that ss clutch line install is not fun.

Also, Im not the greatest launcher but it is actully easier for ME to launch with the restrictor. I'll explain..

With the VIII (w/o the restrictor & ss line), I would never want to let the clutch out fast while launching, because I feared of damaging the drivetrain. This resulting in me lettin it out to slow and burning the clutch.

Now with the IX (w/ restrictor & stock line), I just rev to the 2-step and kinda drop it. I never burn the cluch and I dont have to worry bout drivetrain damage.

Even though either way, I'm bad at launching, the way I do it in the IX gets me better 60ft. and doesnt damage any of my drivetrain.

I think it was the hardest thing to do on my IX, you have to have real small hands and alot of patience. Also, i put in a exedy stage 2 and the clutch pedal is as hard as a rock, should of gotten the twin disk!!
