Noise from the front "transaxle"???

I don't know where the noise is actually coming from, but when I'm doing normal driving and I take my foot off of the accelerator, I hear a small whining noise from the front. I know that it has something to do with the all wheel drive, but
does anyone else get this? If I put the car in neutral it goes away. When I accelerate I don't hear it. ONLY when I take my foot off and the car starts to slow down without braking.

Am I making any sense???

Please tell me this is somewhat normal because of the all wheel drive and that I'm worrying about nothing....

Sounds normal to me, have you noticed this before? need mod list/driving characteristics of you. not the Transfer case. maybe throwout bearing? how many miles on it?

I just bought the car about 3 weeks ago. I drive very conservatively, but the car does have 63K on it. No mods on the car.

Congrats on the purchase, did you have it checked out thoroughly? from a Different mitshubishi dealership then you bought it from? Have them pull the vin #, so they can tell you what has been done, what problems were encountered, and when the fluids have been changed. have you ever had an evo? I think this is normal noise then.

This is my second Evo. I sold my first 03 over a year ago...don't ask..

The car actually drives quite nicely for having so many miles. I think that the previous owner didn't hot rod the car because it's still stock. I just don't remember all of the little noises. I'm being paranoid I'm sure.

I think it is OK, don't stress it.
