how much can the stock head studs handle?
I have stretched ARP headstuds on other cars before. I have the stock head bolts in the EVO, I spike to 24psi daily and have 72k on the stock engine without a single issue to date.

Most probably won't admit to it as that's alot of money down the tube for something that can be prevented by replacing the oe studs.
Conclusion:
If you're doing your internals of any kind (ie. cam replacement), then just do the head studs among the other things recommended. If you're just upping the boost due to supporting mods (tbe, flash, mbc), then it's at the owner's discretion, but there have been nobody to my knowledge that has blown a head gasket under this cicumstance. If you go a step further and run race fuel or methanol injection, it's at even more owner's discretion (not enough people to justify).
If the car is daily driven, I would run 28psi at most in short bursts. If it's a daily/weekend, I wouldn't chance it at all and would do the studs. Full blown race car? We wouldn't be having this convo then.

For all the individuals that say "I installed the headstuds using the 1x1 method and have no issues", I have to ask if you've actually look up the backside of your block from underneath the car to see if you're leaking oil? I thought everything was fine with my install until this weekend when I went underneath to look around and realized that was not the case.
I did mine 1X1 and have no problems. I seem to tear my car apart atleast once a month and have not noticed any leaks from anywhere. I had almost zero experince working on cars when I did mine. The write up they mentioned is a good one and detailed. Just make sure you follow instructions and buy a troque wrench.

Hey its your car but i bet its not the HG causing ur leak. if u broke the seal of the HG then you would be blowing coolant out your overflow tank etc and would be more likely to have a coolant leak then oil. Have u checked the half moon seal in the head? Also reseal the corners of the gasket.
