My car is back on the road again running great with a 7 bolt DSM crank and 7 bolt DSM rods.

Allmost all 4g63 turbo motors used factory nitrided cranks. That why the FSM recommends against grinding them undersize.

I'd have a hard time convincing myself to use the 2G thrust bearing considering it's reputation.

Thank you for reminding me. After looking at it again, it seems like the Evo thrust bearing type is what gets used. I know someone here has done this swap and can chime in for sure. Anyone?

a 2G 4G63 crank in an evo works, and it works well! The cranks are perfectly interchangeable, but evo bearings are a must. Nash's car is back on the road with a 2G crank and Crower rods designed for a 2G 4G63 7-bolt. Not only that, but the car is insanely quick on just pump gas! I think that all 387 whp (22psi on a dyno dynamics dyno) on straight pump gas will testify that this will be a huge cost saver for evo guys doing a rebuild. I picked up a 2G crank myself in preparation for this!

Has anyone used the Eagle forged 4340 forged steel crankshaft instead of the factory piece? Anyway, what's the part number of the factory forged steel crankshaft?

It works awesome. Got it dynoed again tonight, 24psi pump gas, and it made 402hp/320tq on a AWD Dyno Dynamics dyno.
