20g-9-5

im currently have a 20g-9-5 fully ported and polished.. the one buschurracing sells.. the turbo is rated at 450whp.. what do i need to acomplish that? i dont intend on running alky at all.. if 450whp is with alky then what is the highest whp output i can roughly make without alky with a 20g-9-5? any ideas? i have all the basic bolts except camshaft and turbo manifold.. i have, intake, turboback, ebc, fuel pump, ic pipes, intercooler, o2 housing, bov & dynoflash ect... what else would i need to achieve max output of the 20g-9-5 than the modification listed??

Without alky or race gas you're not going to make 450whp... I'm not sure what type of dyno were talking here.. some read so high people are making 400+whp and trapping 110mph lol

You will need aggressive cams, alky/racegas and a good tune at the very least. Do you have any #'s from your current setup?

I dont see why you wouldnt be able to touch 400hp with some aggressive cams and semi aggresive tune, on the other hand it all depends on what kind of dyno too. However buying a turbo just for the number of possible hp is not the best thing to do since you want a reliable power. Keep us posted though

to get to 450whp ur definitely going to have to run race gas. meth or alky. i'd say 400 on pump with other supporting mods should be within reach

Look at david's own RS... he just barly put down 400 whp on a dyno with the best of everything on race gas.... To the crank sure you can see 450, but to the wheels??? Time for a turbo kit!!!

I tell you I am building my car the same way. The most power out of mostly stock stuff. But 450 is out of the question with out the bigger IC kit, turbo and high lift cams with a built to flow head and some water inj.

I dont mean to burst the bubble. I will get the 20g as well but its just will be real hard to get 450 Whp especaily on a mustang. BEST OF LUCK !!!

evoixfor me why are your dyno numbers so low, i have seen 05 evo VIII's with just exhaust and tune push upward of 280 on a mustang 91 octane, i dont understand why you have such low #'s. warrtallon advertizes 300 to the wheels w/ just boost controller fuel pump and exhaust + tune...

I noticed you bolded except cams/turbo manifold... you better get a 100shot of NOS then lol

Let us know what dyno you will be using and where you stand now. Keep in mind BR's dyno reads anywhere from 190-240 for a stock evo.

I'm putting down right around 340/350 with alky. A friend of mine is putting down 420tq/360hp with a stroker/20G/alky (before he did some upgrades)

I suggest you check out the "new" 20G-LT or EVO-Green which will be out in the next couple months (i'm guessing) or a 50trim kit.

With race gas, I may get over 400 on Buschur's dyno... But considering I don't ever want to run race gas, I'll stick with my 362whp on their dyno. Also, this turbo shines with higher boost. If you don't take advantage of running alky, your going to be missing out.

Good luck on the build. You really do need to invest in some cams though.
