If you got some spare hours to kill you can go here...

The downloads rotate HOURLY so just check every once in awhile and the mitsubishi service manual will be up.

anybody know if you do this the same way you would do on a 95 tsi talon??? do you use a timing belt tensioner tool with that motor just as you can with the evo??? reason I'm asking if there are any differences is cuz I did my evo's head gasket and a friend of mine with the talon wants me to help him do a head gasket on his car. if its the same I'm sure I can do it 2g talon btw
I just did a head gasket install....
Here is a quick how to:
Pull off the valve cover
Zip tie the Cam Gears
Take out the Cams
Take off the exhaust Mani
Take off the Intake mani (where it connects to the head)
Take out the Head Studs
Then there is 2 other big bolts holding the head on. They are pretty obvious.
You don't have to take the head completely off.. You just want to pry it enough to be able to take the head gasket off.. Put the new one on and repeat all of the procedures that I listed.
Also, do not forget to bleed the lifters.. and If you have the OEM head studs.. Now is a good time to upgrade to ARP's ..
This is just a quick guide. If you have any further questions.. Feel free to ask.. I did this install already and have had ZERO issues with a leaky head gasket or any other issues.
Please note: When putting the cams back in.. Use the Timing Tensioner Tool and make sure to check your timing.. Mine was off and I had to redo the timing (even though the cam gears were zip tied).
I am not liable if you damage your car in any way, shape, or form. thanks.

You dont need to remove the cams, intake OR exhaust mani to do this on the Evo (can't remember on the Talon TSI). DL the evo service manual here and follow the directions.

Can DL the full version here:

Its easiest to just buy the HAynes Service Manual for the Talon at Autozone or a similar parts store. If my memory serves me well, its 99% the same procedure.
