Thats untuned by the way. He has no flash what so ever on that car. 22 horsepower without any tuning for the mods he has, NOR the cams is pretty good. Seriously dude.
I thought ECUflash was a type of flash

If those are untuned numbers and on 91 oct. as stated, thats not bad at all... I don't know about dishing out $1000 for cams though...

You guys are right, I must be dilusional. Instead of reading the SIG FOR THE VENDOR, I actually read his POST. Which stated:

2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX MR

Blitz Induction Cover
JIC Bullet Downpipe
JIC Spartan Type 2 Ti Exhaust
Cosworth 272 11.0mm Camshafts
Works Valve Springs
Works Titanium Retainers

Everything else stock, including drivetrain.

21PSI~16PSI
91 Octane Pump Gas

22.4WHP Peak Gain
9.6WTQ Peak Gain

With the attached dyno sheet that read 280hp, 271 torque(Less then the sig? Must be a DIFFERENT CAR OMFGZOR!). Thats without even an mbc, thats stock boost fellas. I'll take 20hp untuned on stock tapering boost ANYDAY. But hey, you guys come to your own conclusions, wouldnt want to have to lead horse's to water or anything.

20psiMR: You are correct, the semi-stock Evo 9 MR did its run on the 91 Pump gas. There seems to be no winning in this thread.

To everyone else, here is the clarification:
- we installed three sets of cams in three different cars (All 3 cars are Evo 9 MR's).
Car 1: Shop 9 with 2.4 Mynes-built short block with GT35R on Motec M800 - GT Plus Race gas.
Car 2: GG 9 with some basic bolt-ons running on pump gas.
Car 3: Mynes-Work 9 (Evilevo's car) with mid-range mods running on GT Plus Race Gas = dynosheet to be posted soon. We just finished tuning it not too long ago.

- each car was logged with the pre-installation of the cams; after the cam install, each car was tuned with everything else remaining the same (same gas, same dyno, same tuner).

- we did three cars and want to post all the results at the same time to give everyone a comparison of what these cams can do based on your level of mods. On the GG Evo 9, we wanted to use Pump gas b/c most people daily drive their cars on pump gas.

Personal observation: These cams don't work magic on your cars. It's not going to give you tons of power just by putting it in. As you can see for yourself, it needs supporting Mods to go along with it (just my opinion). If you can afford GT Plus Race gas everyday, then it might be a better mod than having these cams (if you're only looking for peak gains)

So, is it that great to have these cams and only making 280whp on our dyno? It depends on what you're looking for... We have tuned many evo 9 with basic bolt-on (TBE, Intake, boost controller) and hit the 300whp by simply using GT Plus Race gas...

We are here only to present our factual findings. It is what it is... like i said in a previous post, "good, bad or ugly," we will post our findings. We were out at SEMA so that delayed our results by one whole week.

We are putting another set of cams into a customer car this Saturday... we'll see how that turns out.

Happy reading...

Mike @ Mynes

BTW, we do have some of these Cosworth CAMS in stock for delivery. Unlike others vendors, we sell items that we have access to - not items that are going to be here in 10 days or a few weeks...

We observe proper business practice here at Mynes. If we have them "in-stock" = we will ship them out the next day and provide you with tracking. If we don't have them (i.e. the ecu flash cables in stock), i will let you know that those are on "back-order." If you have already paid, i will gladly refund your money. Just asked all those who have purchased from us.

cheers

It should also be noted that even though my car was tuned before hand with Sunoco GT109, because we ran out of Race gas at the shop (the Sunoco) on Monday, my new dyno results after the cams were installed, I was fully tuned with pump race gas VP 101, from a local gas station.

I still had good gains, and over all I am happy. Maxx has the Dyno sheet and he will be posting soon!

You are right, we are sorry but the both of you have the same mods and the other Evo still can't hit 300whp, tuned with race gas. I still think that 22whp is good for an untuned car.

So basically cosworth cams make more power than the gsc's do. Theres a thread in the ams vendor forum and the gsc's made less than 20whp.
