Turbo problem :(

I am having a problem with my turbo. This morning on my way to work this morning i noticed that my car when it spools up makes a louder then normal hissing sound.
There are only two things i can think of that maybe causing this. Let me know what you think.

1) I have been boosting at wastegate for the past 4 days due to me removing my EVC and reinstalling my Hallman MBC. I was running wastegate pressure due to not having my boost gauge in my car and didnt want to chance over boosting.

Here is the second issue i can think of

2) This morning i had to move my car out of my driveway and park it on the street. since I had to change a tire on my girls car and needed the space. When i come out to go get my car the fire hydrant was wide open and hitting the rear half of the car. The town was ironically clearing the hydrants today. I guess i didnt get the memo.

Now i did check the engine to see if any water was sitting near the intake at all which there wasnt. I would assume if there was any water anywhere in the exhaust it would have evaporated after my 20 minute ride to work. If there anything I am missing here or did i hurt my turbo by keeping at wastegate pressure for 4 days?
Sorry for the story but i need to figure out what happened

Water in the exhaust shouldn't cause any problems really because it will push out when the engine turns over, and the water would have to go up to make it into the engine. My guess is that you have a boost leak of some sort. Perhaps a nipple left open after removing the EVC, or just one that has sprung up. I'd pressurize the system.

I check all possible lines and made sure they were connected properly or capped off. It didnt make the noise at all til this morning. The EVC was out for 4 days now. I know one of my friends has a boost leak tester. I will see if i can get it done a.s.a.p.

Do a boost leak test to make sure it isnt what it is.

Why would running the turbo solely off of the wastegate hurt it?

I cant think of any reason why......its like what, 11psi? Less boost shouldnt be bad for it. Sounds like you have a boost leak to me.

I wasnt sure if running on wastegate for a extended period of time would hurt it. I am usually running 22-23psi which i am tuned for.

I have ruled out water in the exhaust. I turned the boost back down to wastegate and its still making the noise. I check all my intercooler pipes & bov connection and there all secured. Checked the coupler around the intake and that is fine also

If water was in intake tract, you would have known from hydrolock as soon as you drove it.

Ever did a painfull belly flop? Thats what happens to pistons if it injested water, only a little worse .

If it wasn't Long Island, I would be raising a stink at the city.

Now about the hiss, is your turbo boosting as usual? If so, turbo probably good - hissing or whistling is from air, I would be scared from a whining noise. Might be leaking somewhere.

Also, If water gushed on to your hot manifold/Hotside then maybe the cast cracked

Yeah tell me about it. During lunch I basically went over every vacuum lines. I checked the couplers on the intake and intercooler pipes. The car isn't smoking at all. It feels fine. What i find discomforting is when the turbo spools up its like 2 times louder then usual. I dont have any idea what could have caused that. If you know of anything that may cause that please let me know. thanks

The car was cold when they turned the hydrant on the car. I will check manifold to see if there is anything cracked. but would the car idle funny if the manifold was cracked???

You can't check for boost leaks by "looking" at your couplers etc...

That's worthless. How are you going to see if you have a small puncture/hole in anything.

Do a boost leak test...

Speculating isn't going to get you anywhere.
