Well this is my experience when I had the lightened flywheel on my old MR-2. I had the HKS flywheel in it and what happend is that the lighter mass slows down the engine speed (RPM) dramatically which causes the engine stall when coming to a stop (need Toe and Heel at every stop). I'm not sure if this will happen in an Evo because I heard that the Evo has an anti stalling mechanism (This I really do not know for sure).

As far as it is for bad for synchros, and etc. I have no idea, most of you guys probably know way more then I do. I just know that HKS told me that it's not very advisable to have the lightened flywheel for street because it will cause the engine to stall. Should had listen to them.
