HP gains will be the same with just about any 3" DP and 3" test pipe. Get whatever is cheapest. If you get the DC one-piece design, then you will never be able to switch in a cat for emissions or for other legal reasons. You'll have to do both the stock downpipe and cat each time. If you don't care about that eventuality, then get whatever...

i have the same, carbon ti on my ix and i was wondering the same thing. i've seen a espelir downpipe for $185 on a web site and was wanting to know if anyone has the same dp and if it was worth the money. Being as most dp's run about $200-$300. Didnt know if the quality of the espelir was any good because of the lower price compared to most other downpipes. Thanks for any responses.

Exactly. I really doubt any 3" dp/tp combo makes any real noticeable gains over another in the fact that you are limited in the design of these items by fitment and the function. I personally have the DC and love it! It fits perfect and doesnt rattle a bit. And you can get them pretty cheap if you search. We dont have emissions laws in the county I live in either and I have a guy who looks the other way when it comes to the visual inspection so I dont mind the catless dp. If that is a problem for you then get a seperate dp and tp so you can switch the tp out quickly. But I love my DC sports so my vote goes for that.

Most downpipes are $200-300? They shouldn't be. Just get a Megan for like $150. Then again, you both spent ungodly amounts on your blingathon cat-backs that give no extra power and only save a few pounds, so I wouldn't think the price of the downpipe would matter...

The Buschur exhaust will yeild good gains but it looks like *** IMO. I'd never put something that ugly on a thirty thousand dollar car. I also have the HKS catback and it looks and sounds great in addition to adding a good bit of power. There are guys making huge power on this exhaust. It is a 3" (well, damn near it) cat back and the only minor restrictions are where it necks down at the cat and the muffler. But that might make a difference of 2 or 3 whp maybe. At 300+whp do you really think you will feel that loss???
