I usually write down ALL my clearances, ALL my turning torque figures at each point of assembly...and I track my oil pressure at what rpm at what engine temp. I take two points of reference. This way I when oil pressure drops 5-10 psi...i know.
If you're spending that much money on a car you might want to double check everything and have a mark to start from. If the bearing clearance was off from the start it would've shown in the oil pressure. Compare notes to another build with similar clearances, oil pump, etc.... may not be precise...but ballpark usually helps figuring out when/if there is a problem.
<-- extremely **** about his engine.

It's interesting to me that many of the well known DSM/Evo engine builders do NOT provide a build sheet with a motor. While I understand that engine building is sometimes thought to be a big secret, it's one that can be shared with customers that are paying several thousand dollars for a product. I personally will not have a machine shop build a motor without providing a build sheet that shows clearances, torques, weights, etc. They come in very handy if you ever need to replace a part, and also serve as a "check and balance" to make sure that the assembly work was checked and double checked. If it's built as it should be, the engine builder has to have done each of these checks anyway. It's not much work to write it down as you go...
Best spec sheet I ever saw.... Using factory subaru components... bearing clearance #1 .0030 #2 .0030 #3 .0030 #4 .0030
I was like riiiight you check'd it lol. I did the same build the week before with a new EJ257 case halves, new sti crank, Pauter rods, and CP pistons.... I KNOW it wasn't 3.0 thou on everybearing. 3.3-2.7 tho on the bearings. amazing to say the least.

Jeez.. sorry to hear about your bad luck, I would be pissed for sure. Have you heard if they're going to do anything to make this up to you? I would expect more then 1500 miles out of a motor I just spent thousands to build..
I'm sure you'll be happy with the new setup, and good luck with everything.
