Did I **** off the knock sensor?

Hey all,
Well got my EVO 9 MR a week ago and have about 350 miles on it now. I'm breaking it in as Mitsu says so nothing wrong there. My concern is tonight when I was parked in the driveway, I was looking at the engine while it was running. I had just started it up and the block was still cold.

When I was ready to leave the house I shut the hood on the car and automatically notice the rpms drop(heard the engine rev down about 200-300 rpm while standing in front of it). This happened the second the hood shut. Now the RPMs didt drop too low (900rpm) and it remainded at that level untill I drove away but what caused the rpms to drop on the car?

***Did closing the hood **** off the knock sensor?***

***What do you guys think caused my rpms to drop?***

***Did this just send my car into limp-mode?***

Since I am still breaking it in I cant floor the car and check the power but just driving it normally after this happened was fine. Nothing out of the ordinary was noticed.

Sorry if these are dumb questions but I suffer from OCD so I worry about the smallest things. Please tell me I didnt **** the car off.

Marc

The RPMs drop as the engine warms up. Don't worry!

Alright man, but damn, talk about perfect timing, the second the hood droped, so did the rpms.

Thanks for responded to my thread littlemilla3.

It's nothing to worry about. you actually pissed off your maf sensor by disrupting the airflow around the intake scoop.

Chyea! Evo sensors are so sensative.

Imagine having your Evo out during bike week like I did here in FL a few months back! I thought my car was broke sitting in idle cause it bogged big time when the big Harley's revved!

I had that happen to me while at a stop light and a Harley was in front of me...all but stalled my car.

***shhhh don't tell anyone the way to beat an Evo is to rev your engine before taking off...that should stall the Evo
