I'd do some additional calculations to determine exactly how much pump you needed, unless you were under 450HP or so. Buschur was starting to lose fuel pressure at 500+ using a single HO pump. Curt Brown ran out of fuel on a dual Walbro 255 setup at alittle higher HP range and had to use a Buschur HO pump in his dual pump setup.

I know that you have to use more E85 then C16, What i meant was that it would be enough since the threshold of E85 is not as great as C16. You would probally start to knock before you ran out of fuel. I could be wrong but it seems noone has really tested the limits of E85. If I can get my car together i will definately test its limits.

If the octane is high enough (and E85 is the equivalent of 105 or better) you won't knock UNLESS your maps are very lean, or your fuel pump cannot supply sufficient fuel VOLUME. Using E85 as your fuel requires 27% or so higher VOLUME of fuel for the equivalent HP compared to gasoline, and thus the standard Walbros may not be sufficient to supply the volume that is normally needed for gas + an additional 30% if you have a high HP modified Evo. That's why I suggested that someone perform the calculations to determine that fact.

HI Guys !!!!!
Great article...just a quick "heads up". He stated " use teflon tape or paste" .
I am a plumber and I do alot with fuel oil and diesel, not much with gasoline. However, I would defenitly not use teflon tape. I have seen it come apart and block oil burner nozzles so I will assume it could happen to injectors etc. Teflon paste would be better, but I would recommend GASOLIA or RECTORSEAL #5 or a similar product. If you read the can, it will tell you whats its good for. I'd hate to see and expensive build go bad with a silly little thing like teflon tape.
Just my .02. SPEED SAFELY
Happy New Year

I've always found that if you "break in" the pipe threads, you can get away without any sealant/lubrication at all, for the pressures we work with. The main purpose of the teflon tape is not really to seal, but to lube, so you can get the fitting tighter. Breaking in the threads seems to allow the same amount of thread engagement without the risk of blocking filters and injectors. YMMV.

Updated Install

Guys i totally forgot to mention a step in the install. If you go to the first page, Step 12B is added, it s very important for the float valve to work properly. Thanks and sorry, i knew i forgot something

Does anyone have pics of which way the suction assembly goes on the alloy pump housing?

Ok guys looking at the pic below. Your suction should sit the same way on the bilet piece if you are looking at the back of the full blown piece. The right side that goes all the way down is the return. The other side is the siphon/suction. I would kick the second pump on at about 15psi. There will be a slight spike in the fuel pressure but nothing to be concerned about.

Hello Fullblown,

first of all I have to say you made a VERY good job !

Second... I'd like to know if there is an anti-return valve to avoid fuel return back in tank in case of one pump fail...

Thank you !
