Question Evo Ix Bov

alrite. this ones for all the veteran evo drivers out there. im looking for a bov for a EVO IX that has a stock engine wit few mods (eg. exhaust, intake, camshafts etc.), nothing over the top yet. I've heard a lot about the HKS SSQV bov and the problems it causes but can someone please explain what problems exactly. This would be greatly appreciated. I absolutely love the sound of the HKS but are there other BOVs that sound good as well?

Thanks!

Sure Ill explain. Search.

Do no put that BOV on you car. You do dont need a DV, your IX is fine, and works perfectly. The HKS is a push type - meaning it will not open at idle or when stopping and will cause engine stalling and generally make your car run crappy. Search VTA - read, read, read - and dont do it.

you buying a bov is a waste of money IMHO, but if you must buy a bov for cool points or whatever get the Forge RS. the RS is a great stock replacement for 03-05 evos cuz they come w/ plastic POS bov's but the IX BOV is fine and works great

dont waste your money on worthless mods

If you want to get a bov im not going to flame you. I would recomend getting hard intercooler piping though. Then you gain some power and the bov won't need any adapters or anything, other than have to be recirculated. Or another route would be to get tuned and a mass air flow cone adapeter and cone filter, your car will sound way differnt and you will get to hear the turbo you paid for.

Like everyone said a bov is a waste since the stock one works fine up to a point(25 psi)
If you MUST have one then the 38mm Turbosmart dual port BOV is a pretty good valve. At least with this valve half the air recirculates back to keep your motor happy. But seriously keep the stocker!

03 - 05 Stock DV is not a POS - take one apart and see. It does leak like my grandma's butt however for it was designed to taper. But with rigging, holds great and drives great.
