I hit 24 psi On Stock Setup

Ok I just confused myself, I have a TBE from AMS and Greddy profec B-spec Boost controller its not hooked up I gave it power and vaccum but i have it off and the selonoid isn't installed. I am still using the Stock boost Selonoid the vaccums and Every thing are untuched. I just got the vaccum from the Boost gauge in on the Sports meter package. So anyway, I decided to go though some of the options and I found how to read the Peak boost, it says 1.7 which is 170 kpa so if you calculate it right 170 kpa comes out to 24 psi !!!! I am not trying to brag, this is a problem if i am realy hitting 24 psi. Personaly I am doubting the boost controler measuring abilites, but its kinda hard to drive at WOT and watch a boostmeter. Now here is another thing I never almost never floor it. Like usualy I just push till satified, Evos are kinda fast you know.

20g? Evo 9's dont come with 20g's, do they? I just thought it was 16g sized with a larger turbine clip.

Um, yeah, that's what can happen if you install a TBE with nothing else - it reduces backpressure, which can cause boost spikes. You aren't supposed to install nothing but a TBE.

Not sure what evotico is talking about...IXs don't have 20g's, and 20g's have nothing to do with this topic anyway.

Cold weather will do it. With my completely stock 05, it will spike to 1.5 bar in ~80 degree weather, ~1.6 in ~65 degree weather, and it hit ~1.65 a couple days ago in ~45 degree weather.

On my Nissan, when it got cold, I always had to adjust my EBC down.

more then likely your only hitting 24psi for a few seconds and thats depending on the gear.

if you're tuned for it then it shouldn't be a problem, if not then you should hook up an MBC, if your not going to install that EBC, and turn your boost down.

No, a tune won't have anything to do with your boost being too high. That's why you have a boost controller. You should just have an MBC on there with the boost turned down, but if you must use an EBC, then that should also be on there right now with the boost turned down.

Why are you waiting until the tune? You need to turn the boost down, and then when you get tuned, set the boost where you want it. The fuel pump is not relevant.

IDK Why i want an EBC it was just more apealing I tune the well, but I don't want to lean out so i figured just to leave the Fuel and Air alone untill I got a Tune. Ahh I guess I get to go and have fun tunning the controler.
