Most of the advanced settings, which do help turbo spoolup, such as +1/-1 and +2/0, are pretty knock prone at throttle tip-in. TedB suggested -2/-3, and it helped out by reducing the engine´s tendency to knock down low, while delivering great midrange power, and good topend as well.

Yeah, phantom knock is such a bi*ch

For sure some room on the 100 octane tune. Since your car was a little sensitive I ran a little lower timing and richer AFR on 100 octane. 11.2 is for sure on the lower end of the scale for 100 octane. 11.5-11.6 would add a bunch of power but I tuned for what the car liked at the time.

Here are my dyno numbers.
This tune was done under what turned out to be less than ideal circumstances, but the tuner did his best with what I gave him.
Turns out I had:
  • boost leaks that started at 6psi
  • one boost line with a tear
  • the MR BOV leaked at 19psi - after the tuner crushed it, it held to 21psi
  • SMC kit had pump going bad - 60psi max
Anyway, here are the pertainent mods:
AEM Intake, AMS IC and LICP, Ebay O2, HKS DP, UR HFC, Greddy Evo2 Catback,
Helix 272s (-4, -1), 660 injectors, -8 plugs, 93oct+alky (such as it was), HKS EVC5

Boost peaked at 30psi, falling to 19psi, then 21psi after the crush.
A/Fs were holding at 11.0 - tuned by Sean Ivey

Moral of story - don't be lazy; look your car over before a tune.
Since the tune, I have replaced the alky pump (120+psi now), replaced the MR BOV with a APS (holds 40+psi on my ho-made tester)
Car now boosts to 30psi and falls to 25psi at 7500.
Would love to get back and get re-dynoed - I am sure Sean could wring more out of it now.

I posted this to see if anyone has an answer for a question I posted earlier...
Why am I seeing max IDCs of 81% with my 660s, while others are seeing much higher numbers with 720s ???
My A/Fs look fat enough ... I don't want to miss something, and have my engine go boom...

Something is banging somewhere, because when Bryan was shifting gears on the dyno I would get 1-2 counts of knock. Like I said, I am addressing that issue(s) presently as I have some ideas what it could be like:

Downpipe hitting oil pan
Exhaust tapping rear swaybar
Stiffer engine mount transferring vibration
i would look @ your downpipe hitting your crox plate.

You are running alky right? That is why you are seeing lower IDC.

OK, thanks.
I saw you post up your numbers, but didn't realize those were from straight pump.

It would be interesting to see how my tune came out on DLL. This would be for comparing known dyno numbers to DLL instead of "my number is bigger than your number."

I would be especially interesting to me considering Sparky is running 2 more psi than I am on 91.

that would be a first for me to see a comparison between DLL and a dyno#
please post it when you do it
