Sorry, I didn't really post this up as a power comparison. Since I realize that all of you guys post up real dyno results and my "numbers" are essentially worhthless except for my own use as a reference tool when comparing tuning changes and upgrades which I do on my car. I just use DLL to make sure that I'm moving in the right direction when I change something on my own car. I'd love to strap down on Bryan's Mustang dyno. I just live too far south of the border.

It would be useful for us down here who don't have dynos if you did indeed do a DLL and overlay it on top of your Mustang dyno graph. The Mustang dyno is a sobering touchstone.

Our two Evos have pretty similar support mods along with the Green. Our turbos are similarly ported. We use the same FMIC. There are a few differeces as my cams are a bit more topend oriented while yours have better midrange. Our cam settings, -1/-3 vs. -2/-3 are real close. You have even better cooling mods than I do.

The reasons why I took an initial interest in your dynograph are: 1) Done on a Mustang Dyno, 2) Tuned by a tuner I respect(Bryan), 3)Similar mods to mine, and etc. But mostly my friend, I just hope that you eliminate your engine's knock gremlins so that you can run a couple more PSI.

atlvalet, that's a nice lookin' dynograph you have there... especially the torque curve holds pretty damn well for a "stock-like" turbo... which is giving you some nice top-end whp.

Any clues to how this particular MD compares to a typical dynojet? Or better yet, do you have a pre-Green dyno so we can compare the two?

Also, please remind me - do you have the HD actuator or the stock IX WGA?

I saw your pics. You do not have the 18psi WGA

The FP unit, at least the one I have, doesn't taper; it's one size cylinder, and it is bolted to the bracket with 2 bolts.

See how it looks in this FP pic:

FP coats the turbo hotside and some other parts with high-temp gray paint. My actuator is gray too, although I bet if I tried to scrape off the coating it would be brass colored under there

First off, I didn't see you putting your DLL graph up there as "comparing" numbers. I just thought "Oh cool, more data."

I think me getting a DLL log would be interesting for a couple of reasons. One, it would give us a piece of data to help correlate between a MD and DLL. Two, it would allow us to compare how 2 different cars with similar mods perform on 91 octane gas. I know it wouldn't be a perfect comparison, and I know that there are a bunch of small variables that might not be the same...but it would be more data than we have now

Muddock,

I have a stock 9 actuator.

BTW, where the heck do I get data log lab? I'm such a newb when it comes to logging my car

I am a bit hesitant to post these as I have found from alot of road tuning on my personal evo and others that the DLL graphs are really only good for comparing before/after tweaks to tunes on the same stretch of road on the same day.

The numbers themselves are all over the place from car to car, place to place, etc etc. Sorta like comparing dyno numbers and curves from different dynos.

With that disclaimer, here are atvalets DLL graphs from the dyno:

91 octane:

100 octane:

So on 91 octane DLL gives hp numbers that are 14% higher than the numbers on a Mustang dyno. For torque the numbers are 11.5% higher.

I ran 5 logs for my Evo 8 back when it was dynoed on a Dynojet in DLL and DLL gave on average LOWER numbers than a dynojet by 7% when it came to hp and 15% when it came to torque.
