If you can tolerate one more "Sorry dude" then let me extend my condolences. Seriously, I'd be bummed/angry. I have a custom tune with boost set at 20.5 psi. Makes me wonder if something like that is gonna happen down the road.

i understand ya man, i hope ya get it replaced with something, theres nothing like getting hyped up to buy a cool ride, and fix it to your taste and it turns into a nightmare, i agree with a few other post it had to be bad evo9 in the batch, i hope it all works out for ya.

Something doesn't seem right here....Or is it just bad luck.

Hmmm....
From what the tow truck company told me they said it caught fire on the tow truck itself. This definetly doesnt seem right, I think it caught fire or vandalized at the lot, where its sitting now. I have a few clues to why i think so, 1) there is no water in trunk of the car, but if the car was lowered from the tow truck it would have definetly poored into it. 2) There is alot of water around the car (I mean puddles). 3) the tow truck driver is nowhere to be found, they told me he took the day off.

The fire department did come and put out the fire, im going to go there for questioning sometime this week.
And they stole my jacket from the trunk of the car, which on top of everything pissed me off even more.

Anyone from NY stay away from Jamaica Towing

How convienent that your car burns up after the engine blows...

Wouldn't this be under the tow company's insurance then?

2 bits of advice for you..

1) DO NOT Discuss this any further with anyone but the insurance company

2) Keep your receipts, and any photographs of the modifications BEFORE the fire and AFTER to prove they were on the car if at all possible.

Most insurance companies are somewhat reasonable about this stuff if you have your receipts and have documentation that they were on the car when it was lost/stolen/destroyed.

If it was on their lot in their care.. If it was on a Flatbed in transit, it may be different and covered another way, hence why they are probably claiming it was on a flatbed, some tow companies have disclaimers about loss/damage while the vehicle is on a flatbed, but their lots are usually insured and bonded.

Discuss this all with your insurance company, possibly retain a lawyer as the circumstances are also a little suspicious for the loss and if the insurance company has any doubt about the loss, it may be something you have to fight for.

Consider it burning a godsend.
Go through all the crap with the insurance co. After all is said and done, buy the car back. Salvage whatever you can to either sell or reuse and then dump or re-sell the shell with the salvage title.
I'd definetly rethink your mod process/driving style as was said above. Engines don't blow and cars don't burn on their own...

I was just thinking, does anyone have the BR350 Evo IX, how much is it and do you like it. I might consider this and leaving it stock, even though its not stock from the dealership.

Since no one else seems to read entire threads I will help you. Click on "post reply" instead of typing in the quick reply area. Towards the bottom in "Additional Options" you'll see a button that says "manage attachments". When you click that you can load pics from your computer to your reply. You may need to resize them as you have a 100mb limit per picture.

I would suggest you no longer discuss this topic online, wait until after you have settled.

I know everyone wants to know exactly what happens, but it would be in your BEST interest not to discuss this any further.
