Buschur Custom Flash vs. full custom tune?

Hey guys. I'm really debating what to do between these two. On one hand for the quick-and-easiness of it I really want to just send my ECU in to Buschur, flash, end of story. On the other hand, I'm thinking about getting the Zeitronix ZT-2 and doing a full custom tune. My first big question is, how much difference do you think there will be, whp and wtq wise? I've got a 2006 IX, with a K&N drop in and Buschur TBE. I really don't plan on going crazy with the car, and I think after the tune I'll be done. The Buschur flash is 375 and the Zeitronix would cost about 509. My biggest thing against the Zeitronix is 1) I'm very picky about how it will be installed, which adds more money to the deal. 2) If this is the only tune I do, then that one time will be the only time I use the Zeitronix. So . . . debate!

I'm not worried about the wiring, it's mounting the display somewhere that doesn't look like ***.

No offense, but something like that is what I'm trying to avoid. Although, that actually doesn't look bad. Any problems with it staying on? Also, does the connector just come out from under the trim piece? Any closeups?

if you are planning on only tuning it once and forgetting about it, buy the ZT-2 without the display. the display is not necessary. (you're logging with the laptop i hope if you are tuning with it). plus it will save you a good 100 dollars. last, do the 9's have the sunglasses holder by the front interior lights? the zt-2 display fits in there perfect. or else do what i do, everything is in the glove box until i need it. then i pull it out and stick it on the steering column.

if you're only going to tune once, then get all your mods put on and get dyno tuned to get the most out off your mods. or get a wide band if you plan to add more mods in the future and do your own tuning. that's my opion.

Just to clarify, you don't need to buy your own wideband in order to get a custom tune. All of the good pro tuning shops will have a wideband on hand. It's hard to put an exact number on how much you would gain with a custom tune vs an e-flash. Every car is a little different.

It's always better to get a custom tune, but it's not quite as important when you're doing such simple mods (drop-in + TBE). All of the e-flash vendors have done that combination a gazillion times and they know what works and what doesn't.

Based on what you've said, I think you would probably be happy with a simple e-flash from Jestr or TTP.
