From what I have seen, it goes like this in terms of idle:
Stock >>Cosworth>>HKS272>>HKS280>>Revolver>>Jun272

Supertech duals and some Ferrea's will work.

Revolvers are some of the hardest cams to get to idle. Harder than the Jun 272's or our new BF272 cam.

I am not going to guess how much these cams will gain over every single set of cams there are out there. I think I have made a good enough general statement of what to expect from these cams on different turbos.

jbrown, haha that's a good one.

I think you listing of the cams idle is wrong in the Jun's idle better than the Revolvers. Generally the Revolvers I have to idle at around 1200 rpm to get them to "smooth" out. The Jun's, Tomei's and ours will idle at 1,000 rpm and sound much smoother. The Revolver cam is one of the nastiest (good nasty) sounding cams at idle there is.

The outcome of a test between the Juns and these are going to be similar as are the Tomei 280's. We tested a lot of cams after the Revolvers became unavailable and we found which cams worked and which ones didn't. We then played with the ones that worked and how we wanted them degreed.

Really big cams are going to look pretty similar on the cam cards, but like most of you likely already know, the whole truth is not on the cam card. We put these lobes where we like them for our bigger power setups, and the closing ramps keep float out of the picture, now if you already have a set of what I'd call "bigger" cams, you may not pick up much from these, in fact I wouldn't bother. But if you were looking for a big set, these are a great option since they run like the big Tomie and Jun, but without the crazy price tag.

We also have quite a few sets in stock now and shouldn't have a problem with supplying as many as we need.

In the past I have had numerous builds held up from a set of camshafts being on back order or coming through a friend of a friend of a friend who has a cousin in Japan that can get them.

As I already said, I am not going into detail on what we did to get exactly what we wanted. We tested other cams, combined what worked, moved the centerlines around slightly and had a cam ground. They are now affordable and attainable.

hey dave. make us some good cams for your 20g. you said stick with revolvers if you have a small turbo but you made these cams because of the lack of availability of revolvers.

if that made no sense, then let me rephrase.

"hey i can't find ham on the market anymore for my big sandwiches but for those of you who only like little sandwiches, you should just buy ham, im going to be using spam from now on."

Yes, you can use aftermarket gears with these cams. You can set them at 0 or you can rent a dyno and play with them and see if your combination gains in the areas you want the gains.

Actually, having a cam ground for the smaller turbo is an excellent idea and I'm not too sure why I didn't think of doing that. Too many other things on my mind maybe.
