May happen less w/the ceramic ball but just cleaning it and greasing it should do the trick
What i dont get is why the boost gets crazy on its own and sometimes it works normally

This happened a long time ago on my 05 and i think when it was cleaned it worked fine so im gona do that to see if it fixes the issue

There have been problems with aftermarket o2 housings and boost creep. I was one of the people with that problem and had to go back to the stock housing.

It does seem that the IX's are having more problems than the VIII's.

ya add a thin layer on the ball... clean up the little ports where the vacuum hose connects to also... that might be a little clogged up too

cheers!

Did it fix it after you put the stock one back on?

i greased it,and cleaned it,i turned it all the way down and it's still boosting at 22 23 pound, but the car dont feel fast, feels like i lost a ton of tourque?i also changed the spring in the blow off valve today, to a not as stiff spring and the driveabilty of the car was so much better, could this have anything to do with it?

help please.

Does your mbc have the stiff spring in it or the lighter one? I installed mine yesterday, and started with the stiff spring. Turned all the way down, the car was spiking higher that anything I want to run on a daily basis ( backed out of every time that the boost gauge went above 20psi).

Went to the light spring, and got it to level out around 21psi (in 3rd gear), but on the highway in 4th gear, it would boost to ~21psi, then creep up as the rpm's rose (again, don't know how high would have went, I back out when I saw the gauge go up when it should have started to taper down). Again, my UNOS is brand new.

Sorry, I don't remember where I was going with this. I believe the moral of the story is: blubyu36, if you're running the stiff spring, try switching to the light one. Everyone else, should I be looking for some sort of ebc? Thanks.

Had same problem with after market cheaper mbc...cleaned it, modified spring tension, changed springs, you name it, without solving over boost probelm..went to Greddy electronic with perfect control now. Called mbc manufacturer and I get the feeling they had no idea what the problem could be other than jamming of ball secondary binding from lack of lube or poor build spec's.

yea, i had this exact problem about 2 weeks ago and my friend took out my forge and gave me his home made one and it actually worked and lowered it back down to normal 20 psi, but before it would spike to 26ish psi, he said the forge went bad
