pruven installed the halmon boost controler and never gave me no springs.

so most likely i need a boost controler ,i talked to sean ivey about an a hour ago and he told me to by-pass the boost controler.and if the boost goes down then it's defnitly the halmon boost controler, and if it stays the same then it something else,

but something is still wierd with the car it seems like the turbo takes forever to spool up,and feels like there is no torque, can the spring in the blow off valve affect that?because it seemed like it started happening when i put the yellow spring in (the softest)?because when i had the stiffest spring in the car would not idle wright.

thanks agian...

To bypass the mbc, just run a hose straight from the boost source (turbo outlet or bov/intake manifold) to the wastegate actuator. The car should then only boost to whatever the wastegate actuator spring allows (~12-15psi, iirc)

Yea the soft spring in the bov may be too soft allowing the bov to open up when you start boosting and leaking very badly. I would put a stiffer spring back in to keep it from leaking.

ok thanks im going to try the blue spring meduim

ill be back ,oh one thing though i see some people run the sofest spring with no problem,i guess every evo's different?

now i have to figure out why my boost controler aint working?could It all be because of the blow off valve?

Is your MBC tapped into the Vac line that goes to the BOV?

no,i just put the medium spring back in and the car gained a little power but still feels slugish im about to put the stiffest spring in and see what happens,i elimanted the boost controler (i think i did it wright)all i did was connect the to lines togther that went to the boost controler is that wright?and it's still boosting over 22 pounds.

but i was thinking i bought this turbo from a friend a white rabbit tme,and im thinking maybe that has a diffrent wastegate accutar, wich would cause it to boost higher with out a boost controler.

What did you do resolve it?

Guys i cleaned the mbc and that didnt do ****!! I re-routed my lines and tapped in to the bov and that didnt do a damn thing either... I honeslty think its the boost controller cause my friend installed a Forge Unos this weekend and he had his turned all the way DOWN and he was hitting fuel cut in 2nd gear

I called Forge and all the told me was to clean it.. I dont know what else to do..Im supposed to get tuned this weekend and i cant cause my car wants to boost 25+ psi in every gear

Go to boostcontrollers.com and get a Hallman MBC, youll have it Wednesday or Thursday latest.

Believe it or not, my friend had a horrible boost creep issue with his 1G Talon and he had an external wastegate! We were baffled, turned out to be bad boost controller. We put my Hallman on and it was gone.

Is this a way to find out maybe that the wga has too much preload? What does the stock wga allows for stock psi?

The stock wastegate pressure is 12psi. Which you already determend was not working when you bypassed your mbc and ran the vac line straight to the wastegate. You can loosen the preload on the wastegate by pulling out the cotter pin on the top of the wastegate arm and sliding the arm off of the hotside of the turbo. Then break free the lock not under the top of the arm and give the arm a turn or two to the left to loosen it, but make sure that it still has some tension on it when you slide it back arm so that the flapper on the turbo is not loose.

Well i havent by passed the bov yet and ran the line from the wga to the boost source.. Ill have to try that to see what the wga psi goes to then i can take it from there.. I think i had the same problem with my 05 but we did a couple of things to it and im not sure which one fixed it.. Thanks for the help man Ill keep everyone posted with the results after i do this

It's not just that you MAY need to clean the unit, Miguel.

It's also very highly likely that you have the stiff spring installed in the unit, and that is also limiting you from turning the boost down below a given point.

You would need to swap to the softer boost controller spring to turn the boost down below a given level. Each boost controller spring has it's own range, so if you're not seeing the adjustment range you want with one spring, use the other.

I explained all of this to you on the phone when you called on Friday. It's pretty lame for you to say that "all" we told you was to clean the unit.
