Unhappy HELP previous owner re-installed bov backwards, i think

ok, so let me first start off by saying, I need some help...
I recently bought my car from a private party, car seemed stock, but obviously, no one owns an evo and doesnt do mods. anyways, the car seemed really funny for a while... it had a slight rattle only when i let off the gas.... i thought maybe it was back pressure or something cuz it was reflashed for a turbo back and intake, but the car only had a catback. So i started buying parts, and came across a turbonetics bov. i was going to install it tonight, only to realize that the stock bov was on backwards. He had the rounded part (the hat looking part) facing straight up... according to the pictures i've seen... that part is supposed to face the radiator... no? so the bottom connects to the intercooler piping, and the outlet on the side connects to the intake.... he had it the other way around. So i swtiched it... now the shutter is gone, and it actually "blows off", but the car feels super slow, and sometimes has a really big bog at full throttle. My friend says that the ecu has to relearn the car's settings... But i just dont know! Some one please tell me if I'M the one that made the mistake and should put the stock bov back to the way i found it... or if im right and now something's wrong with the car. BTW, the car felt much faster with the bov reversed.... not that i would want to run it that way. PLEASE HELP!

Thanks,
Andy

Ok to reset the car/ECU. Disconnect the negative terminal on the battery for 10 minutes.............reconnect, and start the car (DONT TOUCH THE GAS PEDAL) and let it idle for 10 minutes, then you are DONE!! Enjoy, and Welcome Andy!.............You don't have ANDY written on the bottom of your shoes do you? LOL (Buzz Lightyear reference)
