Best header for stock turbo???
Megans Crack easily ! .. and $400 sounds good on Exhaust Manifold for a few amount of weeks, then it's all gone to waste when it's gonna crack! ..
Man, im starting to see a trend here. There sure is a lot of douchbaggery going on in this forum. So what, he mistakingly called his manifold a header. Big effing deal. You guys act like you know so much and are above helping someone out. Granted, he didn't search very well, but so what? There was a time that you didn't know anything and guys like ME had to help you through it, and still do. Pitiful, if your not here to help, then that means your asking questions yourselves. So be nice and don't be asses.
To answer the thread starters questions, the stock manifold is fine with the stock turbo. The restriction in the exhaust is not from the manifold its self, it's in the small turbine section of the stock turbo. So, no matter what you do in the manifold, your still stuck with a restriction at the turbine section. Port it and have fun. Thats about the best you can do. Also, run the biggest exhaust you can find.....3+in from turbo back. That will help out a lot with backpressure and thus EGT's will be lower and it will allow you to run more ignition timing and boost safely.

Also, run the biggest exhaust you can find.....3+in from turbo back. That will help out a lot with backpressure and thus EGT's will be lower and it will allow you to run more ignition timing and boost safely.

The turbo magazine tested a yellow 03 project Evo and manag3ed a extra 11whp and 4lb/tq on just a DC sport header alone.
I put the same header on my car but couldn't see any significant gains other than it cracked a few weeks after I purchased.
Some people reports some gains and some other people don't.

I vote ported stock manifold. You shoulda just done a poll....LOL
My personal experience:
I have used both the DNP and the Megan equal-length headers, both a waste of money. Loss power & torque down below 5000rpm and only gained maybe 3-5 hp above the 5000 rpm mark. My dyno charts are somewhere on the forum, you'll have to search them out if you want.
