In my experience changing the hot side doesn't really affect max airflow from the compressor, but it does affect how well you do with that airflow (power and knock), and obviously lag/spool. For example, I've run garret wheels in mitsu turbine housings with mitsu turbine wheels, and they still flow what they are rated at. Come to think of it, I don't think I've seen different compressor housings (assuming they are within the normal range of what we run) cause a change in max airflow capacity, though that should have a better reason for doing so.
