The EVO IX is looking very impressive, and I just wanted to know people's opinions on the EVO IX, especially when compared to the EVO VIII and past generation EVOs. How much of an improvement do you feel the EVO IX will be over the EVO VIII as far as the total package (power, performance, exterior styling, interior styling, daily driving)? Do you think it's a drastic improvement, moderate improvement, or no improvement at all? How do you think the EVO IX will rank with past generation EVOs, in my opinion, I'm predicting the EVO IX will be the best EVO yet.

 

Yeah it's the best Evo yet, that's what R&D does. I've stuck too much money into the VIII I have now to trade it in for a couple extra bells and whistles just to start all over again.

 

Did they upgrade the turbo, & a bigger wastegate for the new evo 9?

 

It's already released in Japan. Hope it would come out here in US pretty soon and I think 4g63 Mivec is better.

MIVEC and that extra bit of power, but that's all off-set by how freaking ugly it is

 

actually it looks like a big change over the VIII. its getting a bigger turbo, wit light turbine wheel and MIVEC. performance wise way better. outside looks better and had better aerodynamics. just wonder what change they made to the interior, namely the guage cluster

 

The IX is still CT9A chassis, just a moderate update from the VIII

 

are all future evo's going to be 6speed like the MR?

 

no. only the evo 9 gsr will be 6 speed
the evo 9 gt and rs will be 5 speed

there r actually more changes than meets the eye...a better turbo, mivec, 6-spd, better drivetrain and new exterior cosmetics, also the plastic used for the interior is bumped up a notch....while my brother was in japan last month he checked it out in the dealership.
