power issues

I'm not sure my car is as fast as it should be right now. When i bought the car, it was having boost problems and only boosting to about 12lbs. I didnt know this yet and got an ecu flash from jestr tuning. Since then, i have put on a mbc to fix the boost problem, buschur racing tbe, intake, turbosmart blow off valve, and a walbro 255lph fuel pump. Do you think that maybe since i got it tuned when it was having boosting issues it could be problem. I was thinking that maybe if i took it back to john and had him give me a new flash it would be much better. Any suggestions?

what it sounds like is someone took off the supporting mods for the flash and discarded the boost hose from the solenoid to the wastegate that had the "pill" in it. This will cause the car to run at wastegate pressure (~11psi). Now that you've reinstalled mods I would recommend you getting it reflashed to suit the car's present state of tune.

would the retune make that big of a difference? I mean, since the mods are there, shouldnt it still be quite fast without the tune, or will the tune be like night and day?

its just the opposite. When you mod it up and dont tune for it, it actually hurts the cars performance.

What flash did you get from Jestr? A custom tune or a through the mail one. I have a hard time believing they would tune your car only running 12 psi so, I'm guessing a through the mail flash.

Did you add the other parts after the initial tune? If you did then you should definitely get a tune. The fuel pump and intake aren't really helping you if you are untuned.

If possible you should get a custom tune on a dyno. A custom tune is going to be better than a through the mail tune anyway.

it was a custom tune at the shop, but the car wasnt put on the dyno. And yes, the parts were added after the tune. When he tuned it, we didnt know that it was only boosting 12lbs, i didnt yet have a boost gauge.

Alright guys, i got my car retuned yesturday on the dyno at Central Florida Turbo by JESTR. On the initial dyno run the car put out 231whp on the dyno. Turns out my boost gauge is wrong, and I was only boosting 17-18lbs before. At 21lbs the car made 290whp, and at 27lbs of boost on 100 octane gas, the car made 331whp and 347tq. The car pulls very strong now. Can't wait to get it out to the track!

I'd say 60&100 hp gains would make bit of a difference.

Glad you got it running like it should.
