mobil 1 is gl5. however, a few members on here especially me have used it. I didnt have a problem with it. I used it for about 6-7k miles. then my clutch started slipping so I put an act clutch heavy duty sd, ss clutchline and redline synthetic and now its even better. good luck.

I have been running Mobil1 20w-50 in my VR4's transmission. On 3si.org, It is a common thing to do to help with the syncro's. I have not had a single issue with it and the trans shifts wonderfully.
