50 trim turbo specs?

I have just spent about 1.5 hours reading about 50 trim turbos, but there arent very many turbo related details that go along within these threads.

What is the general consensus on a preferred 50 trim bb set-up for primarily running on pump gas 91 octane?

0.63 a/r, compressor housing style, etc.

I have a eye towards boost response.....mods listed below in sig.

most vendors selling 50 trims dont list the details & I understand why.

so if anyone out there can chime in on their personal set-up / favorites / transient response characteristic, i would appreciate it.

yeah, iam considering the fp grn / 20g lt too, but i want to learn more about the 50 trim in bb form.

thanks

I just got my AMS 50 trim tuned and dynoed there last week, I dynoed at 416whp! THat was on 93 octane though. The AMS kit looks and fits good, I would recommend that one. You get what you pay for!

There are couple threads on here that really touch base on both the turbos that you are considering. At around the same boost levels the flow is similar but the 50 trim will make more power with a little bit more money and lag. 50 trim ~50 lbs/minute and i want to say that the green was tested somewhere around ~47lbs/minute. They are both going to be responsive turbos but the 50 trim will offer more power. With price difference of a little over 1k at the cheapest its up to you to decide if you want a bolt on or a full kit. Personally i would get the full 50 trim kit since you have a AEM.

The one you want is: T3/TO4E w/ .63 A/R. That is the turbo that all the major tuners are selling w/ their kits. The only other 50 trim that I am aware of right now is the Borg Warner extended tip.

Everyone has 50-trims. They're all the same compressor wheel. The only difference is different turbine wheel and housings. The Green uses a 50-trim compressor wheel but a TD06 turbine wheel and housing. Bullseye bolt on housings are somewhere around .55 a/r (at least for DSMs, not sure if they're made for Evos). And the T04B is kind of a smaller compressor housing.

In conclusion, if you are buying a new exhaust manifold, get the T3/T04E 50-trim .63 a/r as Creamo3 said. If you want bolt-on, the Green has been proven time and time again.

In my own opinion, I would not go BB with a 50-trim. But that's just me.

I love my 50 trim.... and it's a simple swap to step up to the GT35R when the 50 trim becomes too small. Things always seem to get too small rather quickly on these cars......

You should look into Buschurs 3065r turbo kit as well. It's a good option for you.

It'll make more power than a 50trim, and is still a responsive turbo.
