Induction Pipe

I have a RMR intake system on my 03 Evo and I am in need of the induction pipe. I brought the vehicle with this intake system on it but the pipe that runs from the inlet of the turbo wasent their it was still the factory pipe and not the hard pipe. I would just get one from RMR but thier like 308.00. So if anyone has one their selling let me know and does anyone know how good or bad the Perrin TB exhaust is? thanks

The stock one works great. Why do you "need" the RMR induction pipe if you have a stock one that works? There is no need for that hard pipe.

I was told the stock plastic piece would flex or something like that when you go under full boost

It won't...it's not even in the boost system. It's before the turbo...

Ok well you obviously know what your talking about so Ill adhere to your advice. Do you know where I could find one of the BOV you were talking about eariler that will work with the RMR intake system?

Well, the MAF is before the turbo too but I have seen a few of those "flex." In other words, the honeycomb gets sucked in towards the MAF.

One thing that interests me regarding the intake is the dyno and tune done by Speed Element, where good gains were shown with the ARC intake using ECU flash on a stok Evo9 turbo.

The "boost tube" as i've seen it called before, is actually not under boost like Warrtalon said, it's under vaccum, thus it could have a tendancy to be collapsed.

I have a helix intake..... very nice, cheap and made good numbers with it. The stock inlet is pretty sturdy it should be ok.

So pretty much everone is saying that I dont need the aftermarket hard pipe thats on the inlet of the turbo. The factory piece will do find under pretty much all conditions? Also with the mods I have should I go back to the facotry spark plug? thanks

I'm using the AEM Short ram intake which uses a hardpipe. I don't know if it made a difference because I slapped on to many mods to tell, but It works for me.

That's not the "boost tube" either. "Boost tube" is another name for the UICP.

Luckily, our stock MAF pipe doesn't collapse under vaccuum and doesn't expand under boost. It works very well until you upgrade to a big turbo.

Iverson, what made you toss in the plugs question? You didn't give us any details about your plugs in the first post...

I also have no idea which BOVs do or do not work with the RMR IC pipe setup, but you should get one of the ones from list for sure.

The reason that I threw it in is because I have a little over 50,000 miles on my car and I figured that new spark plugs would not hurt anything considering the mileage. Thanks for everyones help
