Race Gas
That's because half the country or more can't get anything higher than 91. We'd all use 93 if we could. You didn't know that some places only get 91 and that you should use the highest possible octane?
By using EcuFlash, which is free flashing software, a laptop, and the Tactrix flashing cable. Head to the EcuFlash sub-forum in the tuning section to read the tutorial. To switch maps also requires having separate maps that have been tuned.
I plan on running a 50/50 mix of 110/91 every weekend.. say 4-5 gallons each. I hope to have my o2 sensor's still last a while like War's and some other guys' have reported. (see: Years with no problems)
i have exclusively used racegas in my '03 since feb '05. When i had gotten my Dynoflash Al tuned it for the 101octane available in Chandler, AZ. Once i got the Mynes flash, i switched gas to Sunoco GT+ 104 which is what their shop carries. i do not & will not use pump gas & like i always say " $8/gallon is cheaper than a new motor!!!"
performance ain't cheap so u gotta pay 2 play...

Ah, you're confused, because not all race gas is the same. There is unleaded race gas, which is just a higher octane version of what you get at the pump, and there is leaded race gas, which is much different. The unleaded octanes are usually seen as 98/100/104 while leaded is usually 110/112/116. Race gas doesn't hurt injectors, but the leaded race gas does eventually foul out the o2 sensor and destroys the cat if you have one. Unleaded gas doesn't harm anything and has no disadvantage.
It's unlikely to find 110 "at the pump," because it's illegal for street use, so they usually make you pump it into a container in order to buy it. If they let you pump leaded race gas into the car, then they would get shutdown by the fire marshal.

u know i was having this exact same problem but i figured that it was the stock ignition system not being able to keep up with the added boost since my current flash spikes to 27PSI & falls to 23 by redline (7800rpm). then i changed plugs & ran 30PSI for a month. backed it down to 27 since there was no measurable gain for me on the stock turbo. i currently change my oil every 2k miles (same time i change tires since i run advan a032R's) & i now change plugs every 4k miles...
hey thanx nj! do you know what the white plug go? I know the black one go to your OBD 2 port.
Mr. Birdie, read the tutorial, man. This is all simple, basic stuff that you can find right above this forum in the EcuFlash forum. The white plug goes in the white receptacle next to the OBD-II port.
Yes, straight 100 on a daily basis would be safer than 91 + alky.
