Help me find a 4.11 gear, please!
Help me find a 4.11 gear, please!
My tranny is sitting at Sheps and the 4.11's are on back order from Japan.
I need one desperately.
I already posted this in the WTB section, but this section gets more hits.

I just bought a TRE gear from Dan Bajalis that looks to be a 3.8 or something close to it. Maybe its the 3.73 your talking about, but that is going to be a ***** trying to get it out of the hole from what I'm being told.
I sent an email to jon@teamrip.com yesterday, but haven't heard back from him yet.
I would prefer the 4.11 if possible.
If someone has used the 3.73 from TRE, please chime in with your experience with it.

if your drag racing and run a 26" tire definitely stay with the stock gearing. If you could somehow manage to get some 24.5" on the car then the gearing could shine.
Just do some math on tire diameters effect on gear ratio. 26" tire and stock gear = 140mph @ 9000 PRM in 4th gear. 9500 RPM will get you about 148mph.
Here is great link for sizing up gearing for the tire and RPM you want to run. or vice versa

the 3.73 is definitely tricky getting out of the hole. You will need a good clutch and some torque.
I switched out my final to a 3.73, added 100 whp and ran the same times.
I previously made 550 at the tire on a mustang and ran 140 mph. With the final and 650 whp on the same dyno I ran 140 mph, but I didn't need 4th gear to do it
. You NEED to make BIG power to make the gearing worth it, or gear it down with the tire.
My final gears will be coming out once I get around to it .
Stock is the way to go for a rev happy 2.0, with a stroker and big turbo the 4.11 would probably be a pretty good choice, but unfortunately I cannot help you find one.
