Thumbs up Vishnu Stage One

Currently, our Stage One test car is making a consistent and reliable 235 wheel hp on our dyno, on 91 octane, with stock boost levels. It's already put up with 3 hard magazine tests and 5000-odd miles of misc. abuse at Willow Springs and on the road.

On 93 octane and on a Dynojet, I'd expect to see numbers around 280-285 wheel hp when all is said and done. Maybe another 10hp or so more if a test pipe (yuck) is installed. But that's just peak hp, right now we're now playing with things like fuel enrichments, transient ignition advance spikes and boost profile tweaks to further improve on-the-road response and subjective performance.

Cheers,
Shiv
Shiv,

What additions to the Stage Zero (XEDE and Cat-back) are you adding for this Stage One package?

YEAH, maybe you could update your website. I know it is a pain, but information spreads so fast on these forums, having a website that doesn't change for 3 months is beginning to be a crime. That's my beef with Vividracing. Also, how many stages are you planning to do?

Pre-set adjustable cam gears. I've been tweaking with cam timing since we first started tuning the EVO. We've found timing changes to be worth substantial improvements to both power output and knock resistance. But before Stage One is ready for production, we need to make a couple of tweaks to the XEDE in order to avoid the CEL that adj. cam gears can induce due to the resultant timing mismatch between the crank angle sensor and cam angle sensor waveforms (which causes a misfire code).

As for website updates, the order form has been updated to account for EVO products. As has a few other bits here and there. Other updates are currently in the works. Between in-house projects, tuning trips and misc. housekeeping, website updates aren't as frequent as I'd like. So yes, hang tight...

Cheers,
shiv

Sweet. Keep us posted plz. Also, the discussion of your talks w/ Mitsubishi regarding whether or not the Evo's are achieving the rated 271 HP sort of died out-- any word or new info to share? Thanks in advance,

Heff
