comp cams 280
Hey Ted, I have the CompCams 272s which i'll be running with my gt3065. With your experience, what do you think would be the best gear settings to have better mid-range power and quicker spool & better top end power with the cost of slower spool?
The best thing one can do is determine approximately where a given turbo and engine combination will tend to produce peak torque, and set the cams such that the torque curve is strong at the peak, and extends as far beyond the torque peak as possible.
hey ted b whats your input on a -2/-2 or +2/+2 on the comp 280 cam
currently I am running buddy club 272's straight up, going with comp 280's w/gears
but I may do straight up since i favor mid range
currently i have a is 6 blade 20g

The last thing one would want with Comp Cams is to advance the intake. It's already ground on a 104 deg LC. Comp Cams are ground to get best midrange. Best peak power from these cams requires a different cam setting.
yeah I just realize that after reading your reply probably a type-o I meant 0 for the intake because if I were going to get hks 280's I would advance both sides (+2/+2) because I am a tq junkie LOL, this is why i favored the comp over the hks. just my personal preference for my goals
seems straight up would be good for what I want
even you can comment about losing midrange coming from a stock turbo w/10.5 going to a 6 blade 20g w/10.5
