Helix 272 V2 cam?? Opinions

Have been doing some research on these cams and have not come across to much except members arguing about the weight difference compared to other cams.

Anyone actually using these cams, please endulge me with your opinions of them. Trying to get the facts before actually buying them. Thanks

Jason

They worked wonderfully for me. Search for my review.

However, I just bought a IX and will be pulling them out tomorrow after about 4,000mi of usage. PM me if you're interested, otherwise, I'll just put them in the FS forum.

Yeah, I saw your review. Thanks for the feedback. At the price gruppe-s is selling them, I think I rather put new cams/gears in. Thanks anyway.

I'm getting custom tune on 4/28 and was trying to get some cams/gears installed prior to that.

Anyone else w/ feedback on these cams?

Not bad, with those mods though, i would have expected a little more.

I myself will be installing these cams within the next two weeks. I will post my review once this takes place.

Hey,
I have some in stock if you would like. Give me a call at (510)783-5300 and ask for me, Travis, if you would like to place an order. These cams perform great and the price cant be beat! My buddy has them on his car and he loves them he was so impressed with their performance he ended up buying the whole helix tbe. Let me know if anybody is interested. thanks!

The Helix V2 cams are pretty much identical to the HKS, BC, and other cams on the market except for the fact that they use a forged billet type construction. This construction which is naturally stronger than chilled cast (like the HKS) allows a lighter hollow-cored construction which slightly reduces rotational mass as well as a higher Rockwell hardness (better wear resistance) than the HKS unit. And while it's probably not worth paying more money for a 1.25 lbs difference in the cam weights (HKS = 4.25lbs, Helix & stock both weigh 2.9lbs/cam), it's a nice value added feature for cams that cost much less.

Thanks,

Gary
