Everytime i downshift from 6th/5th to 4th, the tranny grinds. even if i rev match the motor. Any clue what causes this.... Any help would be appreciated.

 

Synchronizers are going.

Mine does the same thing.

Take it to the dealer.

 

i will. apparently mitsu is taking all the warranty out of the evo's that are modded. even slightly. i spoke to the service manager and he said that mitsu just started doing this very recently. so even with the intake that i have, it voids the powertrain warranty which is totally bs. i thought that the magnusson-moss act would cover this.

 

And the grinding is worst when im up in elevation, about 4000 ft.

 

Mitsu sucks, and the way they treat us will come back to bite them in the A*s. Subaru takes such good care of there owners its ridiculous and not hard to see why Mitsu is in the trouble they're in! I know my next purchase will be a subie, I love my Evo but the dealers have left such a bad taste in my mouth its hard to get over.
