How much HP/Torque will a reg Exedy twin disc hold?

Thinking about upgrading -again
Will only be going to the drag strip 2-3 x's per year-The rest will be rollons
I have a reg twin disc Exedy-was told it would take about 500-550?
HD will hold about 50 more HP?
When do I need a triple?

is it slipping now? Don't upgrade till you kill the old one.

I'm going to be running a 6 puck sprung ACT clutch and hoping for some mid to low 11s....so there's my choice vs an expensive multidisk.

I smoked an ACT 4puck & something else before that so that's why I went to the Exedy twin

While I have the car apart it doesn't make sense to take the chance

BTW I have almost 500whp & torque now-looking to upgrade to 6-650

I killed the exedy twin sd with only 480 to the wheels. I maybe launched it 10 times with the stock turbo putting down 370 and 6 times with 414 hp. It broke after 3 launches with 480 hp at the wheels. Get the HD version if you can, especially if you're going to drag race with it.

I currently have the triple cerametallic. I've been told this should hold up to the abuse I want to throw at it. We'll see.....

Sounds like you need to look at how you drive, not a clutch lol.

Midwestmonster-What kind of times are you putting down w/ that 50?

4tun8-I should have rephrased that-The previous owner abused & screwed up the 1st clutch-Then I smoked the ACT (that he put in) after I only had the car for about a month-The Exedy was great last year w/ about 415whp/416tq
Now I have 480/480 & it seems fine as well-

Just wondering what experiences people have had w/ another 100-150

Haven't ran the car yet. In the process of breaking in the new clutch. It was just put in last monday. I've been told by AMS it should run low 11s no problem. It did run a 12.1@108 when the clutch blew halfway down the track. I coasted to the finish line.

Just so you know, I called exedy about my clutch issues and they recommended me the triple cerametallic. I would go with it instead of the twin hd. I think with 600 plus hp, the twin isn't going to hold very long at all to abuse down the track.
