ok here's the situation i just got home...
ok... i had a ACT HDSS ctch installed on wed... now i know you're supposed to break it in for 500 miles... so no launch and stuff... ok...didn't do any of it... bt i was crusing on the highway... and a white evo blew by me so my fried was like get him... i was in 5th gear so i said hey lt me have some fun... so i caught up to him and just dipped throught traffice a little... had 330 miles on the clutch at time... not when i ress the throttle i had like a weird supercharger type sound... i mean thecar rides fine... but anyone have any idea on the sound????
my mod hks rs intake... hks hi power exhuast and dc dp...

 

did someone say white and sounded like a supercharger....?

sounds to me like you have the death whine. They prob put the wrong fluid in your TC.

why do you say that. Alot of people say that the TC whine sounds like a supercharger whine. The same thing happend to me. Place that did my clutch put the wrong fluid in. For the first 300-500 miles it was fine. I got on it took it over 100 and when i started slowing down, i had the death wine coming from it. Only on decel though, not when i was giving it gas. He may have a messed up TC or i could be something else.

 

Is the whine only under boost or is it all the time?

I had very similar symptoms and it was my tcase. Can you give us a soundclip?

 

WOw this is a answer that i can answer. I had the same thing happen to me, its a boost leak right at the lower intercooler piping and the bottom of the turbo housing. Let me guess it still builds boost but it sounds like you have a kenne bell under your hood! You need to take off your lower intercooler pipe, find a belt sander and sand it back down flat. pm me with any futher questions.

i hope evoreel is right... i used AMS manual oil and a little mix of the noslip crap also ams... umm... it's when i accelerate... and when it deccelarates it sounds like the turbo calming down but louder... i was also told it might be the drive train... like if i'm in 6th gear i keep the rpm at like 2.5 u hear it loud... or 5th gear at 3k... still loud... so someone please HELP!!!!!

 

yeah, I would also say it sounds like a boost leak rather then the TC. Hell my vaccum hose was off my BOV and it sounded like a supercharger, I thought the alternator or power steering pump was going out.
