shaft play

Is a little shaft play normal on stock, or 20g turbos. I heard that there has to be some to allow a film of oil in through the journal bearing is this true. The reason I ask is because I just bought a 20g evo9 turbo, and it has some shaft play. It doesnt look like the fins are damaged at all, or the housing either. Please let me know if this will be ok. The company I bought from said threy inspected it for shaft play and their was none. I bought it from gruppe s a few months back. They are a pretty repetable company, do you think they might have meant that their is no abnormal shaft play, and not that their is none whatsoever. Please all comments and advice will be greatfully appreciated.

shaft play is when you can wiggle the turbo shaft slightly in between the compressor housing and turbine housing.

just wiggle the impeller side to side and back and forth , if it doesn't move and just spins it doesn't have any shaft play
