Cams and Turbo lag

Is there different effects on the spool up of your turbo with different cams. I have heard it before but i was seeing if there wassuch a noticable difference in which cam u want to choose for spool up

yes, there's a difference. If you get too big of a cam for your setup, spoolup and torque can be greatly affected. Cams choices continue to grow, and bigger choices continue to pop up.

Just like turbos and injectors, you can go too big for your application.

So is something like HKS 272s a good option for me right now instead of getting Tomei 270s with 11.5 lift? and haveing to replace valve springs and retainers?

GSC S1's are your best bet from 300 awhp to 500 awhp. Best compromise between spool, midrange and top end within those hp limits.

Depends on where you plan to go with your car and how soon. Just like the previous thread you posted about the Tomeis in the first place you should expect opinions from all corners. People are running the Tomei 280s on mild setups and those cams are MONSTER cams. The benefits of huge lift won't be realized on a stock head/ tiny turbo combination. Then again, there are people who I'm certain have more cam than they need but make solid power and are not concerned with the impact on driveability.
