New Tranny, New PowerFlex Mount..LOCKOUT IN 2nd NOW!!!
I just got my tranny warrantied by Mitsu and it shifted fine when I got it. I thought it would be worth while to add a PowerFlex Front Motor Mount insert to reduce motor travel. Now after I installed it, I am getting locked out of 2nd...no other gears just 2nd. I shift every other gear at 7-7500rpm with no lockout and it goes right in. Should I try taking the mount insert back out and buying a new stock mount or what? Oh btw...I have Royal Purple 75-90 MaxGear in the tranny also if that matters, but like I said it shifted like butter before I added the mount. Has anyone else had any problems similar?
HELP ME!!!

Can you put it in gear with the car not running?
I dont think your oil has anything to do with it, I have it in my Bushwacker, and its smooth.
I pressed in a Buschur mount in mine and it accualy got better before my first trans exploded

Call me and I will help you look at it

Yeah it will go into gear while the car isnt running and it will go in at any other RPM. I can shift at 7 I just have to wait a second and then put it in gear.
Anyone else have any input? I think I'm gonna put a stock motor mount back in tomorrow and see how it does.

The mount wouldn't cause a change like that unless it was installed improperly (not sure if that's even possible, though). It also wouldn't cause it to only lockout in 2nd gear. The clutch is usually the culprit with the 7k lockout. Have you tried adjusting the clutch out a little? When Mitsu put the trans back in, I doubt they would know where to set the clutch rod for 7k shifts.
I see no reason for the motor mount to have caused this kind of issue.
By stiffing up the movement of the motor, it should improve shifting feel and change little else related to the transmission. There is nothing mechanical inside the tranny that requires motor movement to function, so limiting motor movement by replacing the bushing should change nothing internally of the tranny.
Either the warranty rebuild or replacement of your tranny was somehow screwed up (2nd gear syncro maybe?) or it's the clutch.

If you are for sure that when you changed your mount that this problem started, I would install the old mount back in and see if it fixes the problem. That is if the original mount survived during the removal process. I know its far fetched for a mount to cause this but its an easy way to take it out of the equation.

Ok guys I fixed it! I adjusted the clutch pedal up a little and extended the rod out farther so now it grabs a little higher in the clutch pedal...but it fixed my problem. All the other gears go in smoother now also!
Thanks
